Michelle McCue

Michelle L. McCue, CPA, MBA

Founder & CEO

Michelle has over 14 years of public accounting experience, focusing primarily on not-for-profit audit, tax, and related consulting. She also enjoys and specializes in individual tax planning and consulting, Service Organizational Control (SOC) engagements, and information technology risk assessment and auditing.

Michelle has her Yellow Book accreditation. She is experienced with both the OMB Uniform Guidance and the Ohio Revised Code. She annually attends the AICPA Not-for-Profit Industry Conference. She has attended the AICPA SOC School. She is a member of the AICPA Not-for-Profit Section.

Michelle’s motto is “Be Brave.” When she isn’t providing quality service to her clients, you can find her at her Lakewood, Ohio home, planning a home renovation project or spending time with her family and their 3 dogs. She has a secret (not-so-secret) obsessions with true crime podcasts, reading blogs, and watching documentaries.

Madeline Freeman

Director, Accounting Services

Madeline (Maddie) is a specialized accountant who partners with not-for-profits, their Executive Directors, employees, Board members, and community members. Madeline assists in the development of accounting policies, provides staff training, outsourced bookkeeping and CFO services, audit readiness support, and implementation of new audit standards. Her expertise includes assisting not-for-profits to apply for and maintain tax exempt status, and preparation of annual reporting and filing 990-series forms. She has in-depth knowledge, understanding and experience in managing small businesses beyond just accounting. After spending nearly a decade in public accounting, as and auditor, Madeline has compressive knowledge of internal controls, non-profit accounting, and the OMB Uniform Guidance.

Maddie has attended extensive training related to the Uniform Guidance, non-profit accounting, grant compliance, and new standards implementation. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and Finance from Walsh University.

You probably don’t know this, but Maddie loves to play video games. When her husband, Dan, proposed to her, he went all out and the occasion was Zelda themed (see They got married seven months later in a real castle, with a horse, a knight’s costume and a real sword (we are not making this up). When Maddie isn’t living her fairy tale, she likes to read, bake and drink wines.



“Senior” Administrator

Sydney is a 14-year-old Schnauzer originally from Kent, Ohio. She currently lives in Lakewood, Ohio and spends most of her time sleeping and being angry. She’s in the process of completing her CPA.

Berry is a 7-year-old Boston Terrier originally from Gnadenhutten, Ohio. He currently resides in Lakewood, Ohio and enjoys eating carrots and sleeping 23 hours per day. He is not good at accounting, but is very supportive of people that are.



Office Security

Tito is a one-year-old Boston Terrier/French Bulldog mix. His birth location remains a mystery. He currently resides in Lakewood, Ohio and enjoys chaos. He’s never done his taxes.



The Intern

Leo is a nine-year old Pomeranian. He was born in Rootstown, Ohio. Leo lives with his mom and dad in Stow, Ohio. When Leo is not hard at work (or hardly working!), he loves to snuggle, dance, and bite ankles.



Human Resources

Peaches was born in Peninsula, Ohio and currently resides in Stow. Peaches is a nine-year-old Doberman/Shepard mix. Peaches loves long walks in the park and barking at the mailman. She is also a proud supporter of the ASPCA.
